On the evening of December 8, Feast of the Immaculate Conception, the Institute continued the annual tradition of a candlelight procession through the streets of Rome in honor of Mary Immaculate. This year the procession was presided by His Eminence, Gerhard Ludwig Cardinal Müller.

The procession began at Gesu e Maria Church (Via del Corso, 45), which has been home to the Institute’s Rome apostolate for over 20 years. The Prior General of the Institute, Monsignor Gilles Wach, was present along with the Institute’s Co-Founder and Seminary Rector, Canon Philippe Mora. Many canons and seminarians joined in the procession, as well as a group of Sisters Adorers. Dozens of prelates and clergy participated in this event to honor Mary Immaculate during this centennial year of the Fatima Apparitions.

The procession passed before the Pantheon and, despite the rain, arrived finally at the Basilica of Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, where Cardinal Müller celebrated Benediction of the Most Blessed Sacrament.
